CFI is a non-profit seeking to make a difference in people’s lives by helping them find health solutions to prevent cancers. CFI's team of professionals and volunteers are driven to bring a paradigm change in risk reduction, prevention and early diagnosis of cancers in India. Our work focuses on three major cancers - breast cancer, cervical cancer and tobacco-induced ones which account for 70% of all cancers in India. We empower communities to initiate conversations in public platforms, advocate on policy issues and protect themselves through understanding the real issues of cancer control.

CFI activities in cancer public health is focused in generating and disseminating information, conduct population-based research, screen communities and provide training to health professionals. We share best practices by releasing publications and continue to be a strong voice for cancer prevention in the country. Currently CFI has directed energies on issues of HPV vaccination towards elimination of cervical cancer in India, bring together voices on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at national and sub-national levels and continue implementation of legislation to reduce tobacco use.

Our work finds support and appreciation from generous donors, corporate entities (CSR), government agencies and prestigious national and international organisations. CFI collaborates with several state governments in North East India and West Bengal in their cancer prevention initiatives.

Team CFI is taking small, but sure steps towards ensuring a healthier India.

In India, about 3,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every day, majority at a very late stage, leading to death. Most of these deaths could be averted by prevention and early diagnosis. For almost 20 years team CFI has dedicated itself to cancer prevention and control.
