IDEA originated from the findings of a PhD study and it was conceptualized by a team of qualified and experienced social scientists and social workers, to deal with the problems in education and developmental issues of the marginalized people, realizing the need for adopting a holistic approach to minimize school dropout. IDEA started its work in a slum in 2002, after registering it under the Society Registration Act in the year 2002.  

IDEA adopts a holistic approach to promote education & women empowerment . It has  made a major impact in 35 communities in Pune and 11 villages in Hinjewadi and Bhor, in Maharashtra state. We have also started working with some communities in Mumbai, Chennai and Kerala.

•UNNATI - Entrepreneur Development Program for women - Currently in Pune & Bhor

•E-SAKSHAR- Computer Literacy Program- Currently in Pune & Bhor
